Enhancing Maritime Safety through EU-US Agreements

Enhancing Maritime Safety through EU-US Agreements

The OVERHEAT Project is dedicated to stopping and controlling fires on container ships. The project aims to keep seafarers safe and protect the environment around us.

Did you know that the European Union and the United States have a long-standing agreement on container security? This agreement, which began in 2004, focuses on working together on customs issues, including container security. This highlights the importance of international cooperation in keeping global trade safe and secure.

Building on this foundation, the OVERHEAT Project brings together a team of researchers and maritime experts. This team is creating new digital fire management solutions. These solutions focus on safety, protecting the environment, and following regulations.

By working together, we can create a safer and more sustainable maritime industry. This industry will hopefully prevent container ship fires from happening in the first place. It will also put the safety of seafarers and the environment first.

Stay tuned for updates on our progress as we fight against container ship fires!
