ISL

ISL has been founded as an institute for applied research bridging the gap between basic research and the industry. It has positioned itself as one of Europe’s leading institutions for research, consulting and know-how transfer in maritime logistics.

In its seven competence areas ISL offers customised innovative processes and solutions, drawing on a wide range of expert knowledge from its employees, including market analyses, forecasts, application-oriented innovative funded projects as well as the development and integration of IT systems related to maritime logistics.

ISL will leverage its Competence Centres for Maritime Security, Digital Innovations, Maritime Environment, and Maritime Markets to contribute significantly to various tasks within the project. Specifically, ISL will play a key role in defining the State of Art, Best Practices, and Use Cases in WP2 based on its extensive knowledge of fleet developments and port operations. In WP5, ISL will assess data sharing processes, contribute to the design and integration of the Digital Solution (DS) for port and vessel operation management in WP6, and support simulation and demonstration activities related to safety, security, and environmental aspects in WP7. Moreover, ISL will be involved in developing processes for evaluating End-User Acceptance in WP8 and conducting market analyses with stakeholder involvement in WP9.
