Strengthening Collaboration Through OVERHEAT: Insights from the ReNEW Final Conference

The OVERHEAT project continues to foster valuable collaborations with initiatives addressing similar challenges. Project partner Institute of Shipping Economics and Logistics (ISL) recently participated in the final conference and demonstration event of the ReNEW Project, held in Ghent (Belgium). The event offered an excellent opportunity to explore innovative solutions for secure real-time data forwarding from mobile devices, as demonstrated in the Duoro and Ghent Living Labs.

As a partner in both OVERHEAT and ReNEW, ISL has played a key role in connecting the two projects, helping to transfer knowledge and build synergies across shared areas of interest.

ReNEW developed a distributed software system capable of receiving, storing, processing, and representing data to support informed decision-making by stakeholders—an area of growing importance also within the OVERHEAT project.

The day concluded with fruitful discussions involving vessel masters, shipowners, project partners, and EU representatives, reinforcing the relevance of cross-project collaboration. Participation in such events not only broadens technical insight but also strengthens partnerships crucial for addressing the complex challenges ahead.
